Goodbye Pink Palace
You know how sometimes you look at your checkbook and wonder where all the money has gone? I always know the answer to that question ... it's in the house, in the walls, in the floors, in the kitchen - it's all over this house. For 2.5 years we have been painting and tiling and carpeting and replacing and it's finally over! The Pink Palace is no more.
Since no one who reads this blog today was around back then (except maybe my in-laws - Hi Guys!) I'll recap a little. We bought a PINK house. Yes PINK. Go ahead and start the John Mellencamp song in your head 'cause it plays in ours all the time. It was a great house, that had been very poorly decorated, had old appliances and fixtures and was in a great neighborhood with trees. SOLD right? What's not to love?
I know myself well enough to know that I was going to want to change every room in whatever house we bought anyway... buying a pink house was just an easier way of getting the Dr on board with the redecorating.
So I've been saving this for NaBLoPoMO - the house unveiled a room at a time. I wish I had been more diligent about photographing the rooms before they were redone.. but what I mostly have is the ones I took when we first saw the house. So for the kick-off I would like to review for you just how awful this house was when we bought it. Ladies and gentlemen the PINK collection ....
(if your not seeing anything it's because the reader is blocking the yummy code from my slide show, giver it a click and come on over to the site for the whole shebang)
Tomorrow ... as they say on HGTV... The Reveal begins.
